What Makes Brazil Yellow Catuai Special?

This coffee is grown at Fazenda Rio Verde, part of the renowned Ipanema Coffee estate in Brazil's Serra da Mantiqueira mountains. The combination of fertile soils, warm days and cool nights creates ideal conditions for producing naturally sweet, well-balanced coffees.

The Yellow Catuai variety is prized for its sweetness, consistency and smooth character. After harvesting, the coffee is processed using the pulped natural method, where some of the fruit remains on the bean during drying. This enhances body and sweetness while producing the smooth caramel and roasted nut flavours that Brazilian coffees are known for.

The result is an approachable, easy-drinking coffee with a creamy texture and excellent balance.

Who Will Enjoy Brazil Yellow Catuai?

This coffee is ideal for coffee lovers who enjoy smooth, chocolate and caramel-led coffees with gentle sweetness rather than bright fruit flavours. Its creamy body and balanced profile make it particularly suitable for filter coffee drinkers.

Medium Roast, excellent flavour and with quite a refreshing side to it. Along with that it is also quite a smooth one. Overall very nice.

Delishus!

I ordered a 250g pack for my melitta aromaboy filter machine for our VDUB campervan, and a 250g pack for my cafetiere at work. Arrived well packaged, love the seal on the packs. Flavour is just great.

I am very disappointed with the delivery, I had ordered BRAZIL IPANEMA YELLOW CATUAI - but received a different product. The quality of the received product is not good either,

Bronze medal

I am drinking a cup of this now and it is very pleasant. It is like some of the watercolours done at my college - lightweight but well balanced. Maybe a darker roast would give it more edge. I add about 30% OBJ normally to provide more of wake-up quality to it.
Familia Barbosa and Cachoeira are both ahead of it in Brazilian coffees for me.
Hope I will not have to pay too much more for this when the frost damage starts to impinge on prices

Nothing negative to say, efficient, delicious coffee, especially like the Brazilian yellow Catuai coffee and Columbia Finca Sofia too. Great to be able to order different sizes and collection feels very COVID safe! Definitely a returning customer.

The yellow stuff!

I've been drinking this one for a few years and I think it's quite possibly my favourite coffee.
Personally I prefer this for my drip coffee rather espresso-style.

An all round 5 Star company.

I have been searching for a couple of single origin beans that I can rely on each morning to not disappoint my taste buds.I drink 4 or more double espresso almost every day and spend a lot of time blending different beans from all over the world. Rather like good perfume which can have, low medium and high notes (aromas) coffee can be blended in the same way, think in terms of bass, middle and treble in music output. A chocolatey vanilla bass/a syrup like candy midrange with a fruity/floral top for example. All the coffees I need to experiment with can be supplied by Redber and roasted to order. The tasting packs are especially helpful for this. However, of all the coffees I have tried so far Sumatra Lintong and Brazil Yellow Catuai are by far the best for single origin standalone coffee. No need to blend these beans as they are so enjoyable in their original form. Also thanks to all staff, especially Chris at Redber for their advice and help when I needed it. Ipanema Catui

Having bought the dark roast version of this coffee, followed quickly by the medium roast, I think the latter suits the beans better. My preference is usually for darker roasts, but the subtleties of this bean seem better suited to more medium roast. I’d be most interested to try something in-between!
