    What Makes Kenya Peaberry Special?

Unlike most coffee cherries, which produce two flat-sided beans, a peaberry develops as a single round bean inside the cherry. This natural mutation occurs in only around 5–10% of coffee cherries and is prized for producing a more concentrated, expressive cup.

Grown at altitudes of 1,700–1,800 metres in Kenya's Tatu region, these washed Arabica beans benefit from fertile volcanic soils and cool mountain temperatures. The result is a lively coffee with bright citrus notes, delicate floral aromas and remarkable clarity that has made Kenyan coffees some of the most sought-after in the world.

    Who Will Enjoy Kenya Peaberry?

Kenya Peaberry is ideal for coffee drinkers who enjoy bright, fruit-forward coffees with lively acidity and complex flavours. It's particularly suited to pour-over enthusiasts and anyone looking to experience the distinctive character that has made Kenyan coffees famous around the world.

Fantastic rich chocolaty coffee with a smooth non acid taste. Really nutty. It's by far the best coffee. Some East African coffees give me a bad headache but not Kenya Peaberry.

    Burnt over roasted trash

I’ve had more balanced, less overroasted beans from Lidl. Truly awful coffee. At least they carry a wide range of filters for brewing coffee from more competent roasterys.

    KENYA PEABERRY RITUAL

Wonderful medium fine coffee with a great service, love my pour over coffee experience first thing in the morning and the smell when I open my sealed coffee container, it’s a retro ritual similar to the sequence of putting an old favorite vinyl record out of the sleeve and on to the turntable…….classic , )

The strangest Peaberry I have ever tasted

I have been roasting green Kenya Peaberry for years and thought I would try a preroast to see what a professional delivers to up my game. Well this was the strangest roast I have ever experienced, overwhelmingly unroasted flavours to the point I'm thinking of reroasting the beans are they are almost undrinkable. Maybe a bad batch but I will not risk buying roasted beans again

    Took a bit of time

When i first tried this i wasn't impressed. tried a few cups but just couldn't get the flavour everyong was talking about. I then started to experiment from my usual grind for medium roast and found grinding this on one of the lowest settings i got an extremely pleasurable cup of coffee. My Moccamaster recommends a course grind which to be fair works on most beans i buy but this one particular one needs it quite fine for my taste anyway. I shall buy again now that i have finally got it to my liking. I will also buy some others i tried and discarded in the past which was also probably down to me trying to maintain a constant grind for all. I need a chart by the coffee maker now to say what grind is for what coffee.

    Stopped my grinder.

Unfortunately the coffee beans were so hard they stopped my grinder from grinding. This has never happen before and asking my forum has not happened to anyone else

    Interesting Flavours

I got this in the Surprise Me subscription. I have a bean to pot machine and I made a six cup brew, which equates to about two and a half mugs. My machine uses a vacuum pot rather than a hotplate, so the coffee stays good and doesn't burn.

The first cup was really nice. I make it it strong, and the flavours were smooth and very nice. The second cup, which I had an hour later, was also nice and drinkable. I did notice quite a distinct aftertaste of pipe tobacco with this cup, which was not unpleasant.

    Would recommend.
