Monsoon Malabar - Medium-Dark Roast

Earth
Nuts
Spice

Smooth, balanced coffee with distinctive earthy spice, toasted nut, and gentle smoky notes. The traditional monsooning process softens the acidity and develops a full, rounded body, producing a mellow and satisfying cup with a lingering, slightly spiced finish.

Women sorting beans in a factory setting

This coffee comes from the Malabar Coast of India, where beans are subjected to the monsooning process that transforms their acidity and colour. Originating in the Western Ghats, the beans are harvested at altitudes of 1,100 to 1,200 metres. This unique process results in a coffee that is both smooth and full-flavoured, with a distinct spicy profile.

Not for espresso brewing

Coffee selected from the list for espresso brewing. No luck with even finest of grind. It may be OK for other methods - just not for espresso making.

Coffee is great, but....

I have no issues with the coffee, price is a little high, but what isn't these days. I have tried many monsoon malabar coffees over the years, this is by far the best. The problem, however, is the choice of delivery company. More and more companies are using Amazon as a means to deliver their products and unfortunately Redber have joined the pack. Amazon drivers cannot read delivery instructions, do not understand what 'safe place' means and ignore everything you ask. When Amazon deliver their parcels they often mark the delivery 'handed to recipient' which means left on door step. Our parcels are left on door step in all weather, and in full view of the public passing the house. Items have been stolen in the past. I have complained to Amazon, but they do nothing about it except promise the earth that everything will improve and never does. I'm gutted Redber now use Amazon, it is not a customer friendly experience. I remain on the fence whether to continue using them, i am currently hoping they will change courier...

As described with support fast delivery

A very well flavoured brew and the change of delivery company meant it arrived the day after ordering.

Smooth

Having tried the dark, this time I opted for medium dark. Noticeable difference. Considerably more delicate. Smooth with good flavour, but gets lost with milk, so I prefer to drink this black.

Post office disappointment

Post Office Claimed my beans were delivered in September 2nd. They turned up on the 21st September with no explanation of where they had been.

Monsoon Malabar coffee

Coffee was excellent. However, delivery was heavily delayed. Contacted company but no one could help as they said it was postal delays. No proof of when the item was posted available so unsure when product was actually mailed.

Disappointed

I have purchased these beans previously and they made delicious coffee. But my most recent order of the beans, the coffee was not very good.

Off the bench and scores

I bought this as a substitute for OBJ which was out of stock - really! - and it filled in fine.
Not a beast of a goal-scorer like Haaland but still solid Premiership material. It has an earthy, spicy, lack of fruitiness which I like.
I hope OBJ just has a knock and not a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Monsooned Malabar

It is really very good. I'm a big fan of south Indian coffee (I first discovered it in India) and its not so easy to find it these days. Thank you Redber for a high quality but affordable supply of my favourite coffee. I'm not sure where you get your supply from but I understand that Indian coffee is grown far more sustainably than coffees from many other countries. You might want to stress this in your advertising - ad if it still true it probably explains why Indian coffee is not so easy to find in mainstream shops. It must be a supply issue

Redber Coffee, Monsooned Malabar

I have bought my coffee from Redber for a number of years and they consistantly amaze me with the speed with which they always process my order, deliver within a few days, not to mention the consistantly excellent coffee. It is also refreshing not to hear excuses about not delivering to the Highlands, or making a ridiculous surcharge, or using Corona virus as an excuse not to provide their usual service. Well done Redber, it just shows it can be done, and puts most other UK firms to shame.

I had been buying the Monsoon Malabar beans elsewhere and love the taste.
