What Makes Uganda Rwenzori Special?

Awarded 2 Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2026, Uganda Rwenzori has been recognised by the Guild of Fine Food judges for its outstanding flavour and quality, making it one of our most celebrated speciality coffees.

This coffee comes from the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, where more than 1,000 smallholder farmers grow coffee at elevations of 1,500 to 1,900 metres above sea level. Rich volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures and slow cherry maturation help develop exceptional sweetness, complexity and depth of flavour.

Processed using the natural method, the coffee cherries are dried with the fruit still intact before the beans are removed. This allows the coffee to develop juicy notes of plum and cherry, complemented by rich chocolate sweetness, a syrupy body and a long, vibrant finish.

Carefully selected and graded at Kisinga Coffee Station, Uganda Rwenzori showcases the exceptional quality and growing international reputation of Ugandan speciality coffee.

Who Will Enjoy Uganda Rwenzori?

Uganda Rwenzori is ideal for anyone who enjoys naturally processed coffees with vibrant fruit flavours, rich sweetness and a smooth, syrupy body. Its award-winning profile makes it an excellent choice for filter coffee enthusiasts and adventurous coffee lovers looking to discover one of Africa's finest speciality coffees.

5 stars as Redber has clarified with me regarding the email was incorrectly marked and offered a detailed explanation on different roast and processes of coffee, even offered a free complementary bag of Uganda Rwenzori as apologies.

Coffee and mentioned before is good, but I want to add that is a pleasingly sweet coffee, it kinda opened up a new world to on how coffee can actually be sweet.

Wrong roast level and non existent support

Coffee Is food but I ordered a medium and got medium-dark to dark roast.

Contacted Redber about this and another I had and they never replied.

It's a shame as the variety of coffe provided is good, but after sale is a big let down... Other roasters have been super responsive for any issues.

Unfortunately I use smell as a key sensory part of my enjoyment of coffee ( and wine) and these beans have a strong off putting smell. I will not be able to drink any more.
I remember something similar and I checked the description and the beans are natural which is l believe is the reason

Amazing

I rarely ever write reviews for things but this coffee is so good.
It smells so good when you make it and then it has a great fruity taste as well.
Would definitely recommend

Not my favourite but it will be someone’s.

I’ve taken to giving all my Redber reviews 5 stars because, even though I probably shouldn’t, I’m influenced by anything less than a full rating. Taste is subjective.

In truth, this one sits closer to a 3–4 range for me, as it isn’t really my preference. That said, it’s a very flavourful coffee — fruity up front with a chocolate note behind it, which is lovely.

However, there’s also a slightly funky note; once you taste it, you’ll know what I mean. If that’s your thing, this will easily be a 5-star coffee. I have 1kg of it and I’ll get through it just fine even though it’s not my favourite. It’s quality stuff, I’m glad I tried it, but it’s probably not one I’ll return to.

Beautiful crisp experience

Brewed with a v60 - 16g in to 250g out, 45s bloom all done in about 3min. I think possibly a tiny click finer on the next brew as initially it tasted a little hollow but the sharp nectarine/plum notes are an absolute joy.

Very pleasant and heading up my list of favourites.

My deepest desire for a bright, juicy and fruity coffee is satisfied. Very pleasant acidity, persistent, balanced body and a solid but not overpowering chocolatey finish. Tasting notes description is spot on and I love the visual aid! Perfect for V60 and the roast level is truly medium, as opposed to all other roasters I’ve tried so far, where medium is more like dark (this is where, I suspect, other roasters lose a lot of expected notes). I’ve not tried the other beans I’ve ordered yet, but I am most definitely coming back soon, even if it’s just for these ones!

This is one of my favourites especially as it is a natural process. Seems roasted to medium as described. It matches rather well the flavour profile description on the website. Intensity I would give a 3.5 out of 5 when used for an espresso extracted as 2-2.5: 1.

Pleasant, Chocolatey

Very enjoyable - was expecting to be similar to Kenya but was surprised as not quite so. Enjoyed the chocolatey notes, though.

UgandaRwenzori Kisinga Natural - Medium

Bought this on my son’s recommendation. Although an enjoyable coffee it’s a little too fruity for my taste, I prefer the chocolate overtones, but then I love chocolate more than fruit! Probably won’t buy again, but it’s still an excellent brew.
