We are excited to announce our sponsorship of Team CoffeeCaravan who are taking on the famous Mongol Rally kicking off on 21st July! They will be driving a 2001 Opel Agila from Prague to Russia - fitted with it's very own espresso machine where they will be serving Redber Coffee!
What is the Mongol Rally?
The Mongol Rally is an exhilerating motoring adventure where participants must drive 10,000 miles from Europe to Russia in a small 1 litre scrapheap car! The Rally originally ended in Mongolia and was a way to bring unwanted cars from the UK over for donation. The aim of the rally is just to get to the finish line and there are no prizes for coming first! There are only three rules in the Rally:
1. The car has to have an engine size of less than 1.2 litres.
2. You are completely on your own!
3. You have to raise £1000 for charity!

Introducing Team CoffeeCaravan
Leon, Roland and their Opel Agila, Agatha, make up Team CoffeeCaravan - You can read more about them and follow their journey here. The team have successfully fitted a small espresso machine in the back seat of their car - they are taking a selection of Redber Coffee with them which they will be hand grinding and serving from their machine!
Roland - "I'm an engineer in the space industry with a love for video- and boardgames. There are two places I've always wanted to go to: Baikonour Spaceport in Kazakstan and the Door to Hell in Turkmenistan. The rally is the perfect excuse to visit both! Also I bought a GoPro years ago and this trip will finally justify that impulse purchase!
Favourite Coffee: Frappé"
Leon - "I'm studying Psychology in Austria and enjoy hiking in the mountains as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons. China will be the highlight for me on the rally. I only passed my driving test this year and figured nothing like a small roadtrip to get used to driving!
Favourite Coffee: Latte"
Agatha - "Agatha is the latest addition to our team. She's a bit stiff in the gears and to be honest, we're not sure she knows what she's in for!
In her time off Agatha enjoys long parks on the beach."
Saving the Planet
All participants in the Rally must raise £1,000 for charity - The official charity for the Mongol Rally is Cool Earth. Cool Earth is the non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on climate change. Half of the world’s rainforest has been destroyed in the last 40 years. And, contrary to the headlines, rainforest continues to be lost at a faster rate than ever. Cool Earth believes the rainforest can be saved. We just need a new approach. Show your support and donate here
